Pauline Bartel of Bartel Communications, Inc., received the 2007 Southern Star Award from The Chamber of Southern Saratoga County at the Annual Awards Dinner held on Thursday, April 24, 2008.  The award is given for “outstanding volunteerism in support of the Chamber of Commerce and for contributions to the quality of life in the Southern Saratoga County Region.”

 

Bartel created the image campaign for the Chamber’s 40th Anniversary celebration in 2007, including the branding message, “Marking 40 Years of Passion, Endurance, Loyalty, Strength.”  The yearlong campaign included events; promotions; print, broadcast and Internet media coverage.

The article "The Top 10 Ways to 'Sell'-abrate Your Business Anniversary" by Pauline Bartel was published in the January 2008 edition of Exhibit City News, "the nation's only tradeshow industry newspaper." The article discussed the marketing and public relations advantages of a well-planned anniversary year campaign and the key strategies that transform a corporate anniversary celebration into a "sell"-abration.

December 2007

For its 10th anniversary, Bartel Communications, Inc., partnered with the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce's Women's Business Council (WBC) for the "Dime Time" campaign. The campaign was a 10-month effort to collect 10,000 dimes for the WBC's 2007 adopted non-profit. The campaign raised 10,120 dimes for Girls Incorporated.

Pauline Bartel presented the seminar "Promoting With Panache: Innovative Approaches That Put Your Company in the Spotlight" for the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce's Fall Entrepreneurial Assistance Program. Pauline discussed ways to use corporate anniversaries and business awards to differentiate a company from its competitors.

 

October 2007

Pauline Bartel was appointed to serve a one-year term as a member of the Public Relations and Marketing Committee of the American Society of Journalists and Authors (ASJA) for the organization's 60th anniversary year.  Founded in 1948, ASJA is the nation's leading organization of independent nonfiction writers. Membership consists of more than 1,100 outstanding independent writers of magazine articles, trade books and many other forms of nonfiction writing. Pauline has been a member of ASJA since 1989.

Bartel Communications, an award-winning corporate communications firm, marked its 10th anniversary by spearheading a community-wide campaign, "The Community Table," which raised nearly $3,500 and collected approximately 1,000 pounds of canned food for the three food pantries in Waterford: Grace Church Food Pantry, St. Mary's/St. Vincent de Paul Society Food Pantry and the Waterford United Methodist Food Pantry.

 

The results of  "The Community Table" campaign were announced during a culmination event at the Waterford Civic Center.  The event featured a "CAN"-struction made with the donated canned food; an official proclamation from J. Bert Mahoney, Mayor of the village of Waterford, declaring September 29, 2007 as "Community Table Day"; in-person congratulations from New York State Assembly Majority Leader Ron Canestrari, Town of Halfmoon Councilman Paul Hotaling, President Peter Aust of The Chamber of Southern Saratoga County; and a congratulatory letter from Senator Hillary Clinton.

Pauline Bartel participated in the 2007 Economic Summit on Entrepreneurship & Growth in Upstate New York convened by The Public Forum Institute and chaired by Congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand. Pauline participated in the workshops "Unleashing the Power of Entrepreneurship" and "Moving Innovations Into the Marketplace."

Pauline Bartel was appointed Public Relations Chair of the Consulting Alliance.

Pauline Bartel was a guest speaker for the e-Women Network, participating in a panel discussion, "Discover 'The Secret' To Success," about using the Law of Attraction to create success and wealth in business.

The Nippon Television Network Corporation will feature the book Amazing Animal Actors by Pauline Bartel on an episode of the popular Japanese animal television program, "Tansai! Shimura Dobutsuen" ("Genius! Mr. Shimura's Big Zoo"). The television program attracts an audience of 20 million people.

The Consulting Alliance is a key resource of expertise to businesses and organizations in the Capital Region and worldwide. The Consulting Alliance helps its members build upon their successes through an array of skills development, resource sharing, and networking opportunities, while working together to maintain the standards and reputation of the consulting profession.

 

Bartel Communications, Inc., signed A Peaceful Place Massage and Wellness Center as a new client. Bartel Communications will conduct a media campaign for the celebration of the Center's 10th anniversary and the launch of an international community service partnership.     

Jane Morrison, owner of A Peaceful Place, has partnered with World's Window to raise $10,000 for The Women's Empowerment Project, which will provide sewing machines for the village of Chikandakubi in Zimbabwe. The machines will allow the village women to make clothing to sell to support their families.

World's Window is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to education, empowerment, and hands-on service in Zimbabwe, Africa.

"Happy 10th Anniversary!"

Bartel Communications, Inc. kicked off the celebration of its 10th anniversary by launching a community service project.  Bartel Communications will donate 10% of each new contract signed during 2007 to the Northeast Regional Food Bank.

Pauline Bartel of Bartel Communications provided pro bono grant writing consultation services to the Board of Trustees of the Waterford Public Library. As a result, the Waterford Public Library received $50,000 in state funding for capital improvements.

Pauline Bartel of Bartel Communications was a featured panelist for the Women in Business Council of The Chamber of Southern Saratoga County for their fall program, "Beyond the Business Card: Take Your Networking Skills to the Next Level." Among the topics Bartel discussed was micro-networking.

Pauline Bartel of Bartel Communications invited the owner of Lily Belle's Boutique in Latham to serve as a real-world case study for students in "Marketing Strategies," a course for students in the MBA program at The Sage Graduate School.  Students developed a marketing plan for the retail establishment.

Bartel Communications, Inc. was a bronze-level winner in the 2006 Summit Creative Awards, an international awards competition recognized worldwide as the industry's most prestigious awards exclusively for works created by small and mid-size firms.

The bronze award was given for the public relations campaign Bartel Communications planned and executed for Prudential Blake-Atlantic, REALTORS in response to a specific incident.

Competitors for the 2006 Summit Creative Awards represented 26 countries worldwide.

Bartel Communications, Inc. received two Awards of Distinction from The Communicator Awards 2006 Print Competition, an international awards competition that recognizes outstanding work in the communication field.  The first award was for a community awareness program for Homedical Associates.  The second award was for a specific incident response for Prudential Blake-Atlantic, REALTORS.

The Award of Distinction is awarded for projects that exceed industry standards in communication skills. Entries are judged by industry professionals who look for companies whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry. Approximately 18 percent of the 5,214 entries from throughout the United States and from several foreign countries won Awards of Distinction in 2006.

Pauline Bartel presented the seminar, "No-Fail E-Mail: Strategies for Successful E-Communication" to the Greater Capital Association of REALTORS 14th Annual Education & Trade Show held in Albany.

Pauline Bartel is writing a bimonthly column, "Magnetic Marketing," for The Bottom Line, the monthly magazine of The Chamber of Southern Saratoga County.  Recent columns have discussed "making yourself memorable at networking events,"  "the secrets of successful networking," and "the power of customer testimonials." Pauline also serves on The Chamber's marketing committee.

Pauline Bartel was profiled in "Inside the Boardroom," an article that appeared in the Fall 2005 edition of Saint Rose Magazine.  Pauline serves The College of Saint Rose as a member of the National Board of Directors of the Alumni Association.
